Mega Millions

Posted by Helen Hoefele in Purpose

I didn’t win the Mega Millions Lottery the other day.  Actually, no one from my state did.  In a way I was glad when I heard that, because I had not gotten around to buying a ticket anyway.

Yet, my Mom would still consider me to be a winner though, as she would consider everyone who didn’t buy a ticket to be a winner simply because they got to keep the dollar they didn’t waste on a losing ticket.

Still, even though it is rather well known that Lottery Winners often inherit more problems than their windfalls solve, that doesn’t seem to stop people from wanting to be the Big Winner anyway.

While it is mostly true that money can’t buy true happiness, in many ways, having lots of money will make life that much easier.

At the same time, it is also said that we learn and grow the most from the challenges of life. That is what builds character.  We would not be who we are but for the unique experiences we have each gone through.

Additionally, most people would not dispute the fact that we appreciate things more if we earn them rather than if they are handed to us.

So, for anyone who feels they have lost their way, today’s thought to ponder is this:  Maybe if it takes us longer to find our way, we might appreciate it more than if our life purpose was known to us from the start.

Just something to consider while on your journey…
