Dog Makes The News
Posted by Helen Hoefele in Uncategorized
Now, is this really news….
A rescued dog in an animal shelter and awaiting adoption is featured on prime time news channels. This particular dog is a 4 year old mixed breed in need of Viagra to survive. The animal shelter, Little Animal Shelter of Huntington (a no-kill facility), that rescued the dog can’t afford the $10 dollar a day cost of medication for this dog, but they are not reaching out for financial donations, but something else:
“If 200 men supply one pill, we can supply Ingrid with Viagra for seven months,” Stein said.
The story is an oddity, the donation request is unique, there is urgency (for the dog’s sake), it is a local story, and now with the attention this dog is getting, people will be talking about it. So, I guess that makes it news.
Maybe the moral of this story could be that: “where there is a will, there is a way”? Maybe so. Kudos to the shelter for fighting for what they believe in!
